The Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, has presided over the laying of the first stone of the Incubazul Base Zone building. This blue economy incubator is set up by the Cádiz Free Trade Zone. This initiative will work in the future from a building built with recycled shipping containers, which will be a benchmark in the industrial area of the city of Cádiz.
The minister and the delegate of the Free Trade Zone, Fran González, participated in the act of laying the first stone. Together with them, heads of the Díaz Cubero construction company, in charge of the work, and the Carquero Arquitectura studio, authors of the project. In addition to other authorities, the councilors Carlos Paradas and Lorena Garrón attended as representatives of the Cádiz City Council, representing the mayor José María González.
The architects of Carquero Arquitectura, editors of the basic project, have given details of what the building will be. They have described Base Zone as a reference center, a model to follow in sustainable industry and a new way of doing and living the workplace. From the heart of the industrial zone of Cádiz it will be projected to the rest of the city.
The architects have described the project as broad, complex and original that will initiate the transformation of the industrial zone of Cádiz "from its heart for its future connection with the rest of the productive fabric". This building has a completely different concept from traditional industry, a sustainable industry seen from a global and integral point of view. Not surprisingly, it ranges from the use of recycled containers to the opening of the facilities to green spaces and free areas. Also the use of energy from the photovoltaic roof.
The property will have a total constructed area of 1,951.33 m2. Also 1,415.73 m2 of terraces and free spaces. It is made up of three storeys in height, in addition to the ground floor, and will be built by the company Díaz Cubero, awarded the work. It has a budget of 2,311,687.48 euros (VAT not included) and an execution period of 14 months.
All floors will have terraces and free spaces. The ground floor includes coworking, training rooms, a cafeteria and bicycle parking, as well as surface parking on the same plot. Seven offices are planned on the first floor and thirteen on the second. The third floor is proposed with spaces for management, meeting rooms, facilities and a technological laboratory.
The delegate of the State of the Free Zone, Fran González, has been satisfied and excited. "After many months of processing and work, we have reached this long-awaited start of the work on what will be an emblematic building and a benchmark for the entire exterior estate", he explained. González has highlighted that "this construction is going to be the most visible face of our new industrial model based on sustainability and commitment to future generations".
“The incubator is already working in the Europa building of the fiscal precinct. These facilities are new and of great quality, with everything necessary for their start-up, although the building that we are starting today will offer greater benefits and great comfort to our incubated patients, which will greatly facilitate their daily work”, the delegate underlined.
