The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz exposes its strengths in the Blue Economy on the first day of Innovazul Caribe

The Incubazul incubator, in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, is a model that they want to implement in Santa Marta in their commitment to the blue economy and, above all, to the integration of actors and the formation of an ecosystem. This has been revealed on the first day of Innovazul Caribe 2024, which began yesterday Wednesday in the municipality of Santa Marta, Colombia, and which brings together companies, institutions, research centers, universities and the community around development in that Colombian town. sustainable, regenerative and pluricultural of the sea and the Blue Economy, organized by the University of Magdalena, CEI-Mar and the Unimagdalena Bioceanic Institute for Regenerative Development.

The Cádiz Consortium, which participates in this important forum with the help of the University of Cádiz, has shown its strengths during the intervention of the State delegate, Fran González, which took place on the opening day at the working table “Towards a blue innovation free zone, the pearl of America.” During the day, we opted for an initiative in the area that brings together all actors to develop innovation around the sea, in the same way that Incubazul does. Within the framework of this debate, González presented the new industry model that he has been developing: more innovative and sustainable, with the central axis revolving around the Blue Economy and the Incubazul incubator.

Representatives of the University of Cádiz, Carmen Camelo, vice-rector of Entrepreneurship of the UCA, also participated in yesterday's working table of Innovazul Caribe 2024, which also held its opening ceremony yesterday; and the president of the Maritime Cluster of Andalusia, Javier Noriega, as well as the rector of the University of Magdalena, Pablo Vera; the Secretary of Development of Santa Marta, Carlos Jose Jaramillo; and the vice president of Operations of the port of Santa Marta, Álvaro Góngora.

The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Zone, Fran González, has highlighted the importance of attending this type of international forums, in which “we can give visibility to the Cádiz and Free Zone brand, as well as our new industry model. 4.0. It also allows us to put on the table the good work of our Blue Economy incubator Incubazul, whose results and recognitions speak for themselves. We are proud of its evolution and of being able to take advantage of everything that the sea gives us in a land as linked to the sea as Cádiz, from the perspective of innovation."

On the same day, the opening of this Blue Economy forum was held, which was attended by the representation of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, who were able to listen to the inaugural conference by Gunter Pauli. After the event, the delegate, Fran González, gave the university rector some souvenir sheets and as a thank you for having the Consortium to share the blue economy strategy.
