Cádiz will be the center of reflection on the transition towards a more sustainable socioeconomic model based on the Blue Economy with the celebration of the Blue Zone Forum Congress, which will take place on November 29 and 30 at the Palacio de Congresos and will include the participation of 38 national and international speakers from different sectors.

The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz presented this morning in the facilities of its technological incubator this great Blue Economy forum organized by the Consortium within the framework of Incubazul, which will bring together entrepreneurs, companies, institutions, experts and lecturers in Cádiz and where There will also be a stand area where you can attend live demonstrations by the exhibiting startups of different technologies and items.

The presentation of the event was attended by representatives of the entities that support the initiative and collaborate with Zona Franca in the event: the mayor of Cádiz, Bruno García; the Southern Territorial Director of Telefónica, Joaquín Segovia; the president of the Cajasol Foundation, Antonio Pulido; the director of Global Risk Control at Caja Rural, Álvaro Viguera; in addition to the general director of Petaca Chico, Marcelo Monge. José María Párraga, from the Incyde Foundation, has also participated by videoconference.

Today's presentation has shown that BZF will bring together in the same event international, national and local speakers who will present good practices and debate the needs and solutions in each of the large blocks on which the programming focuses, which will have two itineraries: one aimed at the business public, called Thinking in Blue; and another aimed at entrepreneurs and Blue Youth, called Rock in Blue.

The congress is aimed at the blue community (companies, startups, associations and institutions focused on the sector), companies and entrepreneurs, investors, educational entities, media and citizens in general.

Among the main objectives of the BZF are raising awareness about the Blue Economy and the improvement of the sector through technological innovation; promote and encourage entrepreneurship, mainly among young talent; and support the business fabric.

_emptyBlue Zone Forum (BZF) arises from the hand of Zona Franca de Cádiz within the framework of Incubazul with the intention of enabling a space for discussion, proposals and promotion of measures aimed at promoting the comprehensive transition towards a model based on the Blue Economy, more sustainable. Without forgetting that it already contributes 5% of the world's GDP, and that in Spain it generates some 23,000 million euros and some 700,000 jobs, with a growth of 25% in port activities and 10% in coastal tourism. Also in aquaculture, the province of Cádiz stands out, which is at the head of Andalusia in the aquaculture field, bringing together 60% of all the facilities or production units authorized in Andalusia.

Within the framework of these two days, a total of 38 speakers will participate, distributed in 12 talks, 3 conferences by relevant personalities, 5 expert workshops and 3 networking events. The sectors that will encompass the numerous activities of the BZF are: gastronomy, renewable energies, primary sector, coastal tourism and maritime transport. On the other hand, some central technological verticals have been proposed based on the Internet of Things (IOT), metaverse, blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This Blue Zone Forum congress has the collaboration of the Cádiz City Council, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda of the Government of Spain, the Cajasol Foundation, Caja Rural del Sur, Telefónica, Petaca Chico and the Incyde Foundation.

The Cádiz Free Zone implements a project with Incubazul to be a benchmark in the Blue Economy throughout Spain and in which circumstances are fostered to attract and promote talent and ideas with the oceans and seas as the main focus.

Incubazul has the support of the European Union that co-finances it, through the Incyde Foundation, of the Chambers of Commerce of Spain, 80% by the FEDER within the Plurirregional Operational Program 2014-2020 within axis 3: Improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized companies and the 3rd investment priority Promotion of entrepreneurship, in particular, facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, and promoting the creation of new companies, also through incubators.
